About CRAM International...

CRAM Gallery was established by Tobey C. Anderson and held its Inaugural Exhibition in March 2006. The gallery is independently funded by the CRAM Collective members and Director, and presents monthly exhibitions by professional contemporary artists and their guests who have a connection with Niagara and CRAM International. The membership of the CRAM Collective comes from recommendations to the Director. Those who meet a set of critical and sometimes arbitrary criteria are invited to join - they pay annual dues and an exhibition fee, and our Sponsors and Patrons provide additional financial support to maintain the CRAMplex and activities.
CRAM International operates on a benevolent dictatorial business management model and as a non-profit organization for projects. In 2008, CRAM established an on-going relationship of cultural exchange with the artists of Taller Cultural “Luis Diaz Oduardo” in Santiago de Cuba. Since its inception, the CRAM-Cuba exchange has developed numerous exhibitions and artist residencies in both countries. CRAM networks to co-ordinate artist residencies and travel, cultural visas, donations of equipment, and hand-delivery of supplies to cultural organizations and artists in Santiago de Cuba. In 2013 CRAM and Taller Cultural in Collaboration with Studio 3 will present the first CT-International Print Biennale in Santiago de Cuba.
Co-Founders Tobey C. Anderson and Alan Flint established CRAM Press in 2009 with the introduction of an etching press (circa 1890) from the estate of the late Harold Town. In 2010 an American French Tool etching press was acquired, providing larger format capabilities to the region’s only professional print workshop. Alan Flint, Print Master and José Armando Medina, Print Technician, work with artists to produce limited editions of original prints and limited edition artist book-works. In addition to guest artist projects and occasional class offerings open to the public, a limited CRAM Press membership uses the studio for their print production. Original Fine Art Editions at CRAM Press are produced in a number of techniques: waterless lithography, woodblock, linoleum, mono prints, combination prints, dry point, and intaglio (etchings). CRAM International and CRAM Press maintain archives and a sales inventory of original paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, and prints by local, national and international artists.
